Reverend Calvin Colquitt Sr., was a member and minister of Central Holiness Church 1,
under the leadership of Bishop J. T. Barnett. In 1984 he was sent to help at Pentecostal
Church of God located at 670 Angier Ave. in Atlanta, Ga. where the pastor was Pastor
Berta Mae Stanley. At the time of his arrival, Pastor Stanley was ill and the church was
in financial distress with only a few active members.
Although Rev. Colquitt had not yet been ordained, he was working in whatever capacity that
he was needed. After preaching and praying under the Holy Ghost, God began to make
the necessary changes in the ministry. The church began to grow and improvements was
soon on the way. During this time God used the women in the ministry until He provided the ministry with the men they needed. As the man of God continued to labor for the Lord the
ministry began to grow both in number, financially, and spiritually. Many shut-ins, seminars, and prayer sessions were being held to keep the members motivated about the
move of God.
Not only did Rev. Colquitt work diligently in the ministry but his wife Sis.
Doris Colquitt and eleven children played a vital part in the day to day operation of the
church. Through a process of time people joined and people left, but all of these changes were still in God's plan. The church was then renamed Central Holiness 2. A few years
later Reverend Colquitt was ordained Pastor and later renamed the church Vision Ministries Holiness Church.
In Oct. of 2001, Pastor Colquitt was ordained as Bishop and elevated his supportive wife who had since been ordained as a Pastor to the now leader of Vision Ministries. as these prophecies of growth and sustainability continued to bless our ministry, Bishop Colquitt soon became Apostle and overseer of several bodies of Christ, and Pastor Doris Colquitt continues to lead our ministry by the almighty guidance and direction of our Lord and savior.
Although this may seem like the peak of what God has in store for us, He is continuing to heal and bless as we await on the fulfillment of His promise.
